Opened IDSA’s North East Conference

On Friday April 29 I opened the two-day IDSA North East Conference in Manhattan. And I adhered to the AMA theme (Ask Me Anything), by selecting a number of questions that had been posted on their web site. Those included a question about speeding up FDA’s process on approving 3D printed products – known in FDA language as “additive manufacturing.” To address that question, I called the FDA. The answer: “yes,” or at least it’s possible to get in touch with the FDA, who is working ot the issue of how to deal with Another asked whether services like Kickstarter and Indiegogo are replacing quantitative methods in design research. I had, coincidentally, had several meetings with people at Kickstarter in the preceding days.
