Briefly, my background is in design. I believe design can be a powerful tool for change. Socially responsible design can equalize people, improve health, conserve resources, enhance our quality of life, be fun and intersting, help us learn and make us think. In order to accomplish any of these things we need to focus on people. Design needs to understand and consider physical, cognitive, emotional and social aspects of day-to-day living. The buttons at left lead to a collection of topics. Or, click here if you are looking for Smart Design's website. In addition to various design projects shown on Smart Design's site there are a number of whitepapers on various topics (Design and Emotion, Universal Design, etc.). If you're looking for info on the Baseball Field Guide there's some info at the button at left, but also see baseballfieldguide.com. If you weren't think about design at all but were looking for completely different topics, click here for an interview in Guitar Buyer magazine with me and Bo Diddley, or information on the DeArmond Trem-Trol. I'll be adding more pages to the site and updating the blog, hopefully on a regular basis.
